Pastor Tunde Bakare of the Citadel Global Community Church , Lagos, has advised the children of Oduduwa to watch it lest they kill their heroes and those who will deliver them when it matters most.
Describing the national leader of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a leader in yorubaland, Pastor Bakare advised traducers and critics "whose stock in trade is rancorous noise characterised by bitterness and resentment against the two-time governor of Lagos State" to find something else that is worthwhile to do.
The fiery preacher and convener of Save Nigeria during the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan made this known in about 25minutes video, describing it as a message to his Yoruba ethnic group.
The video is currently trending on social media.
It is not yet certain when the message was recorded or the exact location but chances are that it took place inside his church in Ikeja, Lagos.
He said those bickering over the ancestry of Tinubu, whether he is from Iragbiji in Osun state or Lagos state are engaging in wasteful exercise out of malice, envy and bitterness, wondering how such rancorous and unnecessary debate would address the issues of poverty, unemployment and insecurity.
He lamented that elderly statesmen and strange bedfellows are working together to "kill" Tinubu, reminding them that the Jagaban of Borgu has fought and won many battles on behalf of Yoruba race, recalling also that it was Tinubu's cooperation that made the victory of APC possible in 2015 and 2019.
Bakare said:"Without Tinubu's cooperation and political dexterity, APC victory at the poll in 2015 and 2019 would not have been possible.
"Those maligning Tinubu should find something to do with their time.
"Stop plotting and skeming against him. He had his past and you have yours. Even pope and your men of God have theirs.
"Stop making noise about him making money from taxes. The system allows it and he exploited it.
"Accept your humble pie and eat it. When you were sleeping, Asiwaju was working day and night.
"Tinubu is not a fool. He will not labour that much to ask you to come and take it.
"If Yorubas are not careful, they will kill their heroes and those who can deliver them, keep them aside and nothing happens.
"The so-called leaders are all Shakabula leaders. They don't have machine guns. All they have is Dane gun."
