Akinlade Tested, Fit To Succeed Amosun  - Sarafa

Ayobami Ife, Abeokuta

The Director General of the Campaign Council of the Allied People's Movement (APM), Tunji Sarafa, on Tuesday declared that the governorship candidate of the party, Hon. Adekunle  Akinlade, has been tested and found fit to succeed Governor Ibikunle Amosun in 2019.

Sarafa also revealed that the Council has a mandate to deliver Akinlade as the next governor of the state to save the people's aspiration from being hijacked by hostile political forces.

The former Minister of Mines and Steel Development made this known at the inauguration of the party's Secretariat on Abiola Way, Abeokuta and constitution of campaign committees at state and Local government levels.

He said they were in APM to correct the  injustice against the people of Ogun West Senatorial District and Akinlade, allegedly perpetrated by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Baba Adini of Yorubaland added that APM has a historic role to prevent the hijack of the people's aspiration, explaining that the foundation of politics is justice and equity.

"The foundation of our politics is justice and equity. Our goals is service to the good people of Ogun State. However, this service cannot be achieved if it is built on the shaky foundation of injustice and inequity.

"This recent history of Ogun State has defined our tasks in the 2019 gubernatorial election. We have a historic role to prevent the hijack of the aspirations of the people of Ogun State.

"The resources and potentials of Ogun State should be explored in the service of the people of Ogun State. This is our brief for the 2019 elections.

"We have a duty to deliver Hon Adekunle Akinlade as the next governor of Ogun State. He has been tested and found capable of sustaining the Mission to Rebuild Ogun State which started in 2011 under governor Ibikunle Amosun,"  Sarafa said.

While charging the committee to be dedicated to their roles, Akinlade said the people of the State is his mandate adding that the leaders should play politics of inclusion by bringing more people to their folds.
