'Abiodun Should Start Relating  With Us To Succeed,' Says Adebiyi, Ogun APC chair

The Ogun State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Derin Adebiyi, has declared that the elected executive are vigorously campaigning for APC in the State ahead of the 2019 general elections.

Adebiyi added that if the governorship candidate of APC in the state, Prince Adedapo Abiodun, wants to succeed in his ambition to govern Ogun come 2019, he should submit himself to the  party in the state and start relating with it.
The state chairman of APC made this known on Thursday while fielding questions from reporters on why the party leadership has not been relating with the party's candidate.

Adebiyi noted that whereas Dapo Abiodun has submitted himself to some selected leaders, he had yet to do same to Ogun APC.

He said his responsibility as state Chairman  is to ensure the victory of APC for all elective positions in the state come 2019 and urged the Oil magnate to submit himself to the party.

Adebiyi said: "According to the party's constitution, the leaders are empowered to direct the affairs of the party, but in a situation where some leaders call meetings in their private homes, this is not allowed.

"I think if Dapo Abiodun himself wants to succeed, he should submit himself to the party because we are campaigning for APC and its left for those that have caged him to release him."

The party leadership spoke during a press conference at the APC Secretariat on Abiola Way, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, in reaction to the reported dissolution of the state Executive Officers by the the Adams Oshiomhole - led National Working Committee(NWC).
Adebiyi described the reported dissolution as exercise in futility and an assault on judiciary and the constitution of the party.

He insisted that the current leadership of the party would remain in office for four years.

He said:"The Ogun APC views its purported dissolution as a brazen disregard for the judiciary, hence the Nigerian constitution and flagrant abuse of power by the Oshiomole-led National Working Committee.

"The action of NWC is patently illegal; it is an assault on the APC constitution and outside the bounds of acceptable standard in the conduct of party affairs the world over.

"It was such an act of impunity that led us in the first place to seek legal protection for a four year mandate freely given to us by the overwhelming majority of party members in Ogun State in May 2018.

"There is no iota of truth in the charge of anti-party activities levelled against us, we remain committed to the ideals of APC and even more committed than Oshiomole who is an agent of opposition and an enemy of President Muhammadu Buhari.

"It is an illegality and of no consequence, it has no basis and as such an exercise in futility. Its unfortunate that the Chairman has resulted to self-help in the name of NWC, the decision can not stand as we remain the executive of the party in the State.

"The Chairman is a professional agitator who has not purge himself of his union days, he didn't realise he is now in a very high place which requires caution."

And asked what relationship exists between his executive committee and the Allied People Movement(APM), the new political platform on which Governor Ibikunle Amosun's man, Hon. Abdulkabir Adekunle Akinlade, is seeking election for the office of Governor, Adebiyi said his executive committee has no relationship with APM.
