EFCC Arrests Ex - Gov AbdulFatah Of Kwara State Over Alleged N9bn Diversion


The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested former governor of Kwara State, AbdulFatah Ahmed, in connection with alleged diversion of N9bn while serving as Commissioner during the administration of Dr. Bukola Saraki.

The Anti - graft agency, it was learnt, took him in for hours - long grilling and he is still with the Agency's Operatives as of evening time today.

"The former governor was grilled  for over seven hours at the EFCC headquarters in Jabi, Abuja, over alleged diversion of N9 billion by his administration," a source said.

Also, the Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Social Media, Ms Lauretta Onochie, disclosed on Monday evening on her official facebook page, that AbdulFatah was interrogated by the EFCC investigation team and that part of that N9bn was also diverted during his tenure as governor of Kwara state.

"Former Governor of Kwara State Abdulfatah Ahmed is in the EFCC custody, being grilled over the diversion of ₦9,000,000,000 during his tenure as Commissioner under the Gov. Bukola Saraki's administration and later, during his own tenure as Governor of Kwara state," she stated in her Facebook post," she stated in her Facebook page.
