United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has identified and honoured its K - 9 veteran dogs for serving America courageously and assisting the Bureau in crime fighting and prevention.
K - 9 category of dogs help in searching for drugs and explosives, locating missing people, finding crime scene evidence, and attacking life - threatening criminals on the run and targeted by the law enforcement agency.
FBI in its message on Sunday to mark this year edition of the K - 9 veteran Day, noted that heroes have four legs and a furry tail too.
"Sometimes heroes have four legs and a furry tail! This K-9 Veterans Day, the FBI honors hardworking dogs who have served our country, including the dogs lost in the line of duty," FBI stated.
