The United States government has hailed five Nigerian star singers - Burna Boy, Davido, Tiwa Savage, TeknoOfficial, and Larry Gaaga, for featuring in the sound track of “Coming to America 2.”
The movie which is sequel to the 1988 Eddie Murphy comedy, reunites Murphy and Arsenio Hall, and debuted on Amazon Prime Video on March 5, 2021.
The United States through her Mission in Nigeria - U.S. Mission In Nigeria, described it as a "great symbol" of the "deepening ties" between the two countries.
The U.S. Mission in Nigeria conveyed this on Sunday in her tweets.
"(It is) Amazing to see Nigerian singers Burna Boy, Davido, Tiwa Savage, TeknoOfficial, and Larry Gaaga featured in the soundtrack of “Coming to America 2”.
"A great symbol of our deepening ties!"
The Daily Crucible recalls that Burna Boy and Wizkid recently won the Grammy Awards, an attestation to a global endorsement for Nigerian music.
Burna Boy clinched the Best Global Music album at the 63rd Grammy Awards with his album, ‘Twice As Tall' while Wizkid won his first-ever Grammy Award with ‘Brown Skin Girl’ which featured Beyonce from the 2019 album, ‘The Lion King.’
Other winners of the Grammy Awards eight days ago are talented Nigerian songwriter, singer and actress, Tiwatope Savage, Femi Kuti and his son, Made.
