Police Arrest Herbalist For Poisoning Hotelier To Death

A herbalist identified as Misipode Dosu, has been arrested for poisoning a hotelier, Alh. Jimoh Bello, the owner of popular J.B hotel in Owode -Yewa area of Ogun West Senatorial district, to death.

The operatives of Ogun State police unraveled the mystery behind the socery that led to the death of Alh Jimoh Bello and pinned it down to Dosu, a - 2O - year old young man.

The decomposing remains of the victim were found on the 29th of May 2020 in the booth of his Toyota Camry car parked at Omo-Ilu Owotedo area, via Idiroko town. 

The residents of the area who noticed the car in their area, suspected a foul play following an offensive odor oozing out of it and reported the strange discovery at the Idiroko Divisional Police Headquarters.

The Daily Crucible gathered that when the police got to the scene, they  forced the car's door open and found the corpse in the booth.

The case was subsequently transferred to the Homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for discreet investigation.

 The Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who disclosed this in a release, said a Chief Superintendent of Police( Csp), Femi Olabode,  led a team of detectives to unravel the crime.

Abimbola, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) said the  suspect had confessed that the deceased contracted him for a money - making ritual.

The Police Spokesman said further that  the suspect claimed he demanded the sum of N300,000 as cost of the service and out of which the deceased paid N250,000. 

However, when the ritual was not yielding the expected money, the deceased started pressurizing the suspect over the matter and fearing that he  might report him to the police for fraud, he invited the hotelier over for the final stage of the ritual at Idiroko.

On responding to the invitation, the suspect served him a concoction prepared with a poisonous substance to eat and the man slumped and died few minutes after eating the preparation.

The suspect afterwards, put the  corpse into the booth of his car, drove it to Omo - Ilu area of Owode - Yewa and parked it where it was recovered.

The Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun has directed that the suspect be arraigned before a court of competent jurisdiction as soon as the investigation is concluded.
