The Chairman Transition Committee, Ijebu Ode Local Government, Engr. Olugbenga Olugbile, has frowned at the indiscriminate dumping of refuse on waterways by Hausa settlers around the Ijebu Ode Central Mosque, at the Oyingbo axis of the Local Government Area.
Olugbile had during his visit to the area, on Thursday, expressed his displeasure at the non-compliance with Environmental Sanitation Laws by the Hausas trading beside the Central Mosque, particularly, their non-challant attitude towards the Thursdays set aside by the State Government for the cleaning of markets across the state.
He enjoined, the local government residents to always adhere to the directives of government at all levels.
He also urged the people to take as serious, the preventive measures announced by the government to contain the spread of COVID-19 within the communities.
According to the LG Information Officer, Kayode Ibikunle, in a release to The Daily Crucible, the Council Boss thereafter donates waste disposal buckets to them to ensure a clean and healthy environment.
