The National Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has ratified the candidacy of Pastor Osagie Ize - Iyamu for the September 2020 Governorship election in Edo State.
The decision to ratify Ize - Iyamu as the party flagbearer in Edo was reached at the NEC's virtual meeting in Abuja on Thursday.
The NEC also dissolved the National Working Committee(NWC) of the Party and appointed All APC's Caretaker Committee with calls for an extraordinary national convention.
The meeting was summoned by the controversial Acting National Secretary, Victor Giadom, and attended by President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice - President Yemi Osinbajo, Governors on the platform of the party among others.
Other resolutions of the APC NEC include the following:
1. The withdrawal of all cases in Court
2. The dissolution of NWC
3. The establishment of Caretaker/Convention Committee.
Governor of Yobe State, H.E Mai Mala Buni has been appointed as the chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC)’s caretaker committee and extraordinary national convention.
