Ogun State Government has distributed relief materials to victims of the November 27, 2019 rainstorm in Ibefun community in Odogbolu Local Government Area of the State.
This followed a post-storm assessment carried out by the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).
Items provided included: roofing sheets, bags of cement, bags of rice, mattresses, and other food items.
Speaking during the distribution exercise at the Ibefun Police Station, Ibefun, the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun who was represented by the Commissioner for Environment, Abiodun Abudu-Balogun, revealed that although the intervention could not completely solve the problem faced by the victims, it was an effort geared towards easing their plights and showing his administration's care for the people.
Abiodun urged the victims to gratefully accept the materials as a token from the Government, saying the materials were provided based on the degree of damage done to individual property.
The House of Assembly representative for Odogbolu Constituency, Atinuke Bello, lauded the Governor for remembering her constituency, saying: “This Government is a government of its word. We want to thank you for having us in mind."
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr. Olugbenga Sadiku and Mrs. Ehinmodupin, commended the State Government for the kind gesture, praying that the good Lord would continue to ensure his success till the end of his administration.
