ADP Presidential Candidate, Sani, Meets Obasanjo, Worries Over Growing Insecurity, Others

The Action Democratic Party (ADP) Presidential Candidate, Yabagi Sani,  has warned that Nigeria's political power is domiciled in the "hands of those who lacked  knowledge of how to use it" to move the nation forward.

Sani added that this also informed why Nigeria's economic fortune is at it's lowest ebb.

The ADP Presidential candidate made this known after emerging from a private meeting with former President Olusegun Obasanjo at his Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, on Wednesday.

The Presidential hopeful was in Obasanjo's sprawling OOPL to intimate him of the progress so far  made in the journey to become President come  May 2019, and seeks the ex - president's wise counsel, support and goodwill towards his ambition.

Sani who was appalled by the growing insecurity and pervasive hunger in the land amid lack of direction in governance, urged Nigerians to push for a total departure using their votes in the next election to effect the desired change from the present political leadership of the country.

According to him, Nigeria requires an informed leadership that would  take the nation to the promise land and rekindles the hope of Nigerians.

He said: "The economy of this country is at its lowest ebb that you can ever think of. This is a country whose GDP was about $570billion just about two or three years ago, growing at five percent rate or more.

"And today, for the economy to go down to 1.5 percent growth rate. With all the potentials of this country, believe you me, its not our lot. 

"God does not want us to suffer hunger, deprivation, killing, lack of capacity in governance, lack of direction. The President cannot keep his own house in order, its a shame and we are laughing stock in the international community.

"This is not the promise of this nation. This is not what we have. We have something better.

"And that's why people like us have stepped forward to be given the opportunity to give this country the leadership that it requires, the informed leadership. 

"A situation whereby you have power but you don't have the knowledge, its crisis. That's what we are in. Power is in the hands of those who do not have the knowledge on how to use that power."
