Ogun APC Excos Intact, Says Adebiyi As NWC Dissolves It, Appoint Caretaker Committee


The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Chief Derin Adebiyi, has said the party's Executive Committees in the state, Local Government and ward levels, remained intact, describing their dissolution by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party, as "null and void."

Adebiyi who addressed party faithful at the party's state Secretariat on Abiola Way, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, on Friday evening, added that only members of the party in the state who voted the Excos into office could remove them.

The party Chairman spoke just as the NWC of APC led by Com. Adams Oshiomhole has appointed three - man Caretaker Committee comprising Yemi Sanusi(Chairman), Ayo Olubori(Secretary) and Tunde Oladunjoye(Publicity Secretary) to oversee the affairs of Ogun APC.

Adebiyi reiterated the party's commitment to the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari as well as the election of Governor Ibikunle Amosun into the Ogun Central Senatorial seat and Senator Lekan Mustapha into the Ogun East Senatorial seat.

"It is only party members in the state, who voted in the executive members that can dissolve the Exco. We are APC and we remain APC," Adebiyi said.

Also, Governor Ibikunle Amosun, in his address, urged party members to shun violence, be focussed, peaceful and be prepared to answer the detractors with their votes

He enjoined them to be united and work in harmony, assuring that "the 2019 election will be in our favour."

The governor revealed that he would start his senatorial campaign on Thursday, December 27,  2018 and that vehicles for campaign would be distributed to all 20 Local Government Areas, in support of Buhari's campaign.h

The Governor who received the flag and the letter of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in the state, for the adoption of Buhari as the party's candidate,  assured that he would deliver it to the president.

According to  the Director General of the Adekunle Akinlade Campaign Committee, Alhaji Sarafa Tunji Ishola, who spoke on behalf of the APM in Ogun State, he said  the party has unanimously adopted Buhari as well as Amosun, as candidates for President and Ogun Central Senatorial seat respectively.
