Senator Solomon Adeola (APC, Lagos West), has promised a better future for his constituents and Nigerians in the incoming year of election as the All Progressive Congress (APC) is poised to consolidate on foundation already laid in cleansing the mess left behind by previous government.
Senator Adeola said in addition to the numerous ongoing infrastructure and social intervention programmes of the APC administration, the 2019 Budget proposal is replete with unprecedented provisions for Domestic Debt Servicing, which would have far reaching positive socioeconomic impacts on Nigerians.
Adeola made this known while speaking during his annual End of Year- Get- Together for constituents of Lagos West at his home in Egbeda, Alimosho Local Government Area, according to a release on Thursday by Chief Kayode Odunaro, Media Adviser to the Senator.
The chairman of Senate Committee on Local Content, therefore, submitted that it would be in the best interest of constituents and Nigerians to vote for APC at all levels in the coming election.
"The 2019 budget proposal is not only unique but has some first time in history provisions. This is the first time that a huge budget provision of N2.14 trillion is made for Debt Servicing.
"Not only that, 80% of that fund is for domestic debt servicing and the implication of that is that there is going to be more investment and creation of employment locally," Adeola stated.
He further noted that it was a good thing that President Mohammed Buhari has stated that no new capital projects would be embarked on as there is need to complete numerous ongoing projects for the benefit of the people.
According to him, this signifies a clear departure from a situation where government would abandon projects it did not initiate for new ones thereby leading to plethora abandoned projects that were the lot of Nigeria in the past.
The Senator assurred his constituents that included horde of disabled, visually impaired and other physically challenged persons that he would continue to give them a voice on the floor of the Red Chamber as well as continue his numerous income generating empowerment programmes for them.
He also advised them to sustain their usual political culture of always casting votes for the progressives as represented in APC for Nigeria to move to the next level of development that was left stunted by looting and mis-governance of the past.
Dignitaries that attended the party were Alhaji Abdullahi Enilolobo, the APC State Organising Secretary, Hon. Dr. Samuel Adejare, a former Commissioner for Environment in Lagos State and APC candidate for Agege Federal Constituency, Hon. Femi Adaranijo, member House of Representatives, Alimosho Federal Constituency, Alhaji Ahmed Haruna Kuraja, chairman of Arewa Community Chieftaincy Council in Alimosho and Alhaji Ibrahim Jagaba, the chairman of Arewa United Group, Lagos West among others.
