Leaders of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) have declared that God's grace will make the re-election bid of Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State seamless in 2023.
Describing Abiodun as a man of brain and grace, the PFN leaders said that strength alone would not guarantee success of one's efforts in life, adding that the grace of God is also required as it simplifies assignment and amplifies result.
Bishop Felix Adejumo made the declaration on Saturday at the Legacy Secretariat of the PFN, Ogun State chapter located at Kobape area of the state during the chapter's 'Leadership Capacity Building Conference' with Governor Abiodun in attendance as a special guest of honour.
Speaking at the conference with the theme, 'The Throne of Grace: Healing Nations Through The Church,' the guest speaker, Bishop Adejumo who is of the Agape Ministry, Akure, described Abiodun as father of Ogun State by virtue of his position, saying if the Grace of God had not spoken for him, he would have been at the backseat today.
He said grace could multiply efforts and make room for an individual to be at the top.
He said the governor had transformed the state with developmental projects, and citing relevant portion of the scriptures including Hebrews 4:16, he said God's favour will guide him to success in 2023, reckoning him as a "man of Grace and brain."
The cleric enjoined Christians not to allow momentary slip into error lead them to feel they were no longer worthy of God's abundant grace, urging them to "boldly, fearlessly and confidently approach the throne grace" at all times to surmount life challenges.
The Bishop also noted that grace does not abandon anybody, but the individual must make use of his brain to work and study more to make it in life.
Addressing participants at the conference, Governor Abiodun described himself as a "child of Grace and testament of the awesomeness of God," recalling that were it not for the rare grace of God upon him, he could not have defeated former governor Ibikunle Amosun in 2019 who used everything at his neck and calls to back his annointed political son, Hon. Abdulkabir Adekunle Akinlade, against him.
Abiodun appreciated the chairman of PFN, Ogun State chapter, Apostle David Otaru, for continually supporting him in prayer on his journey to the Governor's Office of Ogun State.
The governor enjoined the body not to relent in supporting and praying for his administration to succeed.
He promised to support state PFN in its worthy cause and extend 'Oko Owo Dapo' scheme to PFN this week for the benefits of women in small scale businesses and trades.
The governor also called on Nigerians to desist from using inflammatory words capable of aggravating the current situation in the country.
He said that it is only in the atmosphere of peace, harmony and tranquility that the country can attain the desired development and growth.
He stressed that it was imperative for Nigerians to continue to see themselves as one and pray for the nation to overcome her challenges.
The governor noted that the theme of the Conference, "The Throne of Grace, Building of Nations Through the Church", was appropriate especially at this time when Nigeria is experiencing insecurity and several other challenges.
"As individual citizens, we have to be patriotic in our ulterances and deeds. It is important for all of us to desist from using inflammatory words which are capable of aggravating the situation. Let us continue to build bridges instead of fences.
"Nigeria is faced with lots of challenges like insecurity issue, the exchange rate and others that have affected our economy. All these create uncertainty and have effects on our psychic", he noted.
He described the church as one of the institutions that have played vital roles in educating, enlightening and embarking on citizens'orientation of their civic duties as patriotic citizens, saying that it was important for Nigerians to be mindful of the type of leaders they choose in the forthcoming elections, as it would have impact on their well-being.
"Leadership is a dynamic revolutionary process of influencing behaviour which means influencing the actions of others towards a shared purpose. It is about character, influence, integrity and positive impact made on the lead.
" We must choose leaders that will impart on our lives and that of the next generation. We all have individual and collective roles to play for the development of our State, nation and humanity", the governor emphasized.
Earlier in his address, the chairman of PFN, Ogun State chapter, Apostle David Otaru lauded the governor for his continued partnership and sustenance of excellent relationship with the body.
