2023: Thousands Walk For BAT-Shettima, Dapo Abiodun In Ogun

All Progressives Congress (APC) members and supporters in their thousands submerged major roads in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, in solidarity walk for the presidential and governorship bids respectively of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Prince Dapo Abiodun.

The enthusiastic walkers took off at MKO Abiola stadium, Kuto in Abeokuta, some minutes after 8am, coursing through Isabo, Nawardeen, Ijaye, Abiola way before terminating it at NNPC junction.

Senator Olamilekan Adeola, Hon. Abiodun Isiaq Akinlade, former Chief Staff to governor Abiodun; Shuaib Salisu - all National Assembly candidates of APC, and Dapo Abiodun were prominent faces among the solidarity walkers.

Members and leaders of various transport Unions in the state, interest groups among others were also participants.

Abiodun who lauded the people of the state for showing massive support for Tinubu  ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

The governor noted that the walk and the support was a testimony that Tinubu remained the people's choice , saying his election in 2023 as president of Nigeria was already a done deal by the grace of God.

" This massive crowd is a sign to scare any opposition. The walk was planned just yesterday and the crowd is intimidating.

" It is a show of love that you support Tinubu and Dapo Abiodun's election victory in 2023.

" We are still going to hold a rally at the stadium and by February we cast our votes for all APC candidates," he said.

Abiodun, however, appealed to those yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to do so before the election.

" I appeal to those yet to collect their PVC to collect it before election. Some PVC have arrived, go and collect it because you won't be able to vote without your PVC," he said.

Earlier, the State Chairman of Riders and Owners of Motorcycle Organisation (ROMO) Alhaji Rasak Shotayo popularly known as Sholebo, said Abiodun had performed well and deserved a second term.

Shotayo also noted that Tinubu remained the best candidate for the presidential election in 2023, saying that all his members would cast their votes for Abiodun and Tinubu.

Also, the State Chairman of RTEAN, Alhaji Titilayo Akibu, said the walk was important and a sign to show Nigerians that Tinubu remained the choice of Ogun people in 2023.

Akibu also reiterated the support of the union to Abiodun's reelection, saying that the state had witnessed economic growth under him , hence, the need to reelect him as governor of the state.
