A Federal High Court sitting in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, on Thursday dismissed a suit challenging the selection and nomination of Senator Olamilekan Solomon Adeola as the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial candidate for Ogun West.

The Daily Crucible reports that a total of 294 delegates cutting across the senatorila district's five local government areas in Ogun West converged at Orona Hall Ilaro on May 28 to vote at the party primary to select senatorial candidate for Ogun West ahead of 2023 poll.

Dr. Dapo Odukoya was chairman of  the APC Senatorial Primary Committee and at the end of the exercise and Adeola who is the chairman, Senate Committee on Finance, scored 294 votes to defeat the out - going Ogun West Senator; Tolu Odebiyi who polled zero vote.

All the 294 delegates were accredited for the voting in the said primary and all of them voted for Adeola.

However, the suit challenging the outcome of that primary was instituted by Adeniyi Adeyinka Tajudeen and 2 others.

The matter was struck out for lack of locus standi and unsigned writ of summons.

In the judgement delivered by the presiding judge, Justice O.O. Oguntoyinbo, the court held that the plaintiffs' suit lacked merit and was thereby dismissed.

The Judge further advised that the plaintiffs  should henceforth desist from attempting to take irrational steps to mislead the Court of Law.

However, the Court erupted into jubilation after the judgement by Supporters of Senator (Aremo) Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi, who were led into the Court premises by Dr Iziaq Kunle Salako, the Director General of Yayi Campaign Organization, YAYICO.
