For superintending a country of a rising debt profile amid parlous economy, the Labour Party(LP) says the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) has lost moral right to field candidates at all levels for the 2023 general elections after the party had mismanaged the country's affairs.
LP advised all candidates of the APC to withdraw from further participating in the 2023 general elections on the grounds that the APC controlled government at the centre had plunged Nigeria into an avoidable N42.84trn debt - domestic and external, amid shortfall in revenue generation.
In its national message ahead of Nigeria's 62nd Independence Day celebration,
Comrade Arabambi Abayomi, the LP's
National Publicity Secretary, he alleged that the APC led government had spent
N4.2 trillion between January and April 2022 out of the N17.32trillion earmarked for the whole year.
Abayomi who noted that he was relying on the information from the Director-General of the Debt Management Office (DMO), Mrs. Patience Oniha on the nation's debt profile and revenue shortfall, urged Nigerians to join LP to demand the resignation of the APC from the seat of government now for allegedly running into insolvency.
He also called on Nigerians to join hands with LP and support Peter Obi's hope and peace assuring presidency come 2923.
