The Image Maker of the Ogun State Command of the Federal Fire Service explained that no life was lost but said two persons were injured in the incident.

According to him, the injured were taken to the hospital for intensive care.

He traced the cause of the explosion to a gas truck which attempted to offload its product but collided with other empty trucks from the rear while on reverse mode.

The impact, he noted, let out an explosion and then fire.

He added that the incident occurred at Sun Contractor Project Services Limited, Km 46 Lagos- Ibadan Expressway, Mowe, Ogun State around 10.51am.

Four stationed gas truck were severely burnt in the inferno.

"Safety we always beleive should be a paramount thing, but people unfortunately do put up this attitude of negligence. The cause of the incident was a result of carelessness and inadequate preparedness, we admonish the public to be alert when it comes to safety," she advised.

Also, the Operations Officers, SF Ilesanmi paul and  DSF Ogunsuwa ( operational commander) who were present at the scene separately told our Reporter that the fire was brought under control.

"The situation is under control and nomarlcy has returned to the area," they said.

The Daily Crucible gathered that the early arrival of the emergency responders from Ogun State Command of the Federal Fire Service prevented what could have led to further damages as they confronted the  fire and contained it quickly.

The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu who was among the first responders at the scene said this,  "The The Agency, led by the Permanent Secretary, responded to distress calls and upon arrival discovered an explosion which had subsequently affected adjoining trucks in the compound.

"Further investigation revealed the fire actually started from the battery of one of the truck before escalating to a gas cylinder resulting in a secondary explosion. No loss of life or injury sustained. The Agency's LRT worked alongside the Lagos State Fire Service, the Civil Defence, FRSC and Nigeria Police."
