Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said that despites the challenges facing the country, he has seen Nigerian children whose conduct keep rekindling his hope that Nigeria will be better tomorrow.

Obasanjo therefore called on parents to continually pay attention to their children's dressing and to caution them against indecent exposure of the sensitive parts of the body.

The elder statesman, who appreciated parents' efforts in  sending their children and wards to school to obtain quality education, said that the education would not be complete until the children were taught the rudiments of decent dressing and good manner.

According to him, with what he had seen some of the children doing today, it is a pointer that Nigeria will be better tomorrow.

He made this known at the Graduation Ceremony/Award Presentation of 96 students of Lyceum Foundation Group of Schools at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, Ogun State on Saturday.

The theme of the school's 10th year anniversary and graduation ceremony for the year 2022 is "Portrait of an Outstanding School".

The ex-president, who was represented by his wife, Chief (Mrs) Bola Obasanjo, however expressed worry over the way some youths - both boys and girls, bare their cleavages while the  boys sag their jeans to expose the boxers underneath.

"I learnt something again during the presentation you could see the all the children especially those ones dancing raising their legs up, the sow the uniform material well, you can see the decency in what they are wearing protecting the private parts, both men and women please i want us to learn from this it looks so minute that all these ones doesn't it matters a lot.

"When our children are dressing in the house when they wear something showing their body call them back or the wear something showing their cleavage please don't let them go out or we see our boys sagging please call them back. We have learnt a lot from Lyceum school, what they do in presentation they did a lot and God will continue to help us.

"At times you see the dressing of young girls always put some of them into pits, attracting unnecessary things to them and you see them some wayward ideas coming in and by the special grace of God that one won't come to our children because you can see what they are doing is showing that Nigeria will be better." he said.

The two term civilian president lauded the management of the school and the founders, Mr Yinka  Ola - Williams and Mrs Maureen Ola- Williams, for making sure the children dressed in their uniform decently during their performances.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Education in Ogun State, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, urged the graduands to prepare themselves well for the next phase of learning and have a resilient spirit for hardworking.

Arigbabu, who was represented by the Zonal Abeokuta South Local Government Area, Mr Temitope Lasile, also charged the school management to continue to set standard for their student and sustain the 'portrait of an outstanding school' in the state.

He said "I am convinced  that you have been well prepared for the next phase of your learning here. Hence, as you leave this school for a higher. school or college, it will not t be a business as usual. You will now take responsibility for your life."

"Life is a mixture of the good, bad and ugly, Notwithstanding, you must have a resilient spirit to weather the storms of life. Stay connected to your creator at the time of your youth. Remember, nothing is achievable without hard work and divine benevolence." he added.

Head of School, Mrs Maureen, while thanking the parents for picking Lyceum school for their children, said that the school would not relent in giving its best for the pupils and students.
