The IA- Foundation has donated a borehole as well as educational materials such as books and mathematical sets to Mawumadoka home/school in Makoko
area of Lagos to enhance teaching and learning.

The borehole will ensure the children and by extension the community have dteady access to clean water to drink and maintain good hygiene.

The philantropic gesture which brought not a small relief to the pupils and teschers, came after a video depicting the school children reciting the national anthem in muddy water, went viral on the social media in October 2021.

Speaking at the signing of the
Memorandum Of Understanding with the donor organisation, the Founder of the school - Mr Joshua Zannu expressed delight at the gesture by the IA-Foundation.

The Foundation also donated educational materials to students of other schools in Makoko even as it mulls plans to
provide solar energy, to power the borehole.

Also, it is considering providing floatIng classrooms for the slums in Makoko area of Lagos state.

The Commissioner of Education in Lagos state, Mrs Folashade Adefisayo, commended IA - Foundation for its intervention.

She  said: "Thanks for your report and your efforts. The borehole will be very useful".

The founder, Mrs Ronke Adeagbo said, this is part of the Foundation's social investment strategy and it is a game changer to the
plight of children out of school, in deprived areas.

The IA-Foundation is determined to ensure vulnerable children can access education wherever they live.
