Political Pilgrimage To London Continues As Amosun Visits Tinubu

 By Ayobami Ife Abeokuta

Former governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has visited the National leader of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in London where the two notable politicians met after a relatively long spell of both not appearing together for public glare.

As the nation approaches another round of politicking preparatory to 2023 general elections, it is not out of place to see politicians coming together once more, perhaps to renew alliances, build and rebuild bridges and even strategize towards forging new alliances in furtherance of political goals.

This becomes expedient as the two main political parties - APC and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), are making zoning of the Presidency 2023 between the North and South a dicey decision.

The Southwest geopolitical zone which appeared better prepared and positioned to produce a successor to President Muhammadu Buhari than either of the Southeast or South South zone, can't afford to operate like a house divided against itself if the Presidency must return to the region after the tenure of the administration of President Olusegun Obasanjo ended on May 2007.

Earlier, the region's other political gladiators -  governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State and his Ekiti State counterpart,  Dr.  Kayode  Fayemi, also visited Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu in London.

The former governor of Lagos State is rumoured to have presidential ambition in 2023 but he has since neither denied nor confirmed it.
