There is an indication that the People's Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain in Delta state, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi has dumped the ruling party in the state for the resurgent opposition All Progressives (APC).
Indication to that effect comes from Buhari Sallau, a personal assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on broadcast media.
Sallau in a post on his Facebook page said claimed, Nwaoboshi, the senator representing Delta North senatorial district at the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly had met with the President earlier today.
Sallau shared photos of the senator as he met with President Buhari alongside the national caretaker chairman of the APC and Yobe state governor, Mai Mala Buni.
The deputy president of the Senate and lawmaker representing Delta Central, Ovie Omo-Agege was also present as Senator Nwaoboshi met the president.
Responding to the development,
President Muhammadu Buhari welcomed Nwaoboshi to the APC, saying “you are welcome to the progressives family.’’
Sen. Nwaoboshi, representing Delta North District, Delta State, was presented to President Buhari and National Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) at the State House by Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege.
The Deputy Senate President said Senator Nwaoboshi’s decision to join the APC clearly shows that the effort of the CECPC was yielding fruit.
The Senator was warmly welcomed by party members.
