Wife Fatally Stabs Husband Inside Abattoir Over Pregnant 'Side Chick'

A - 47-  year old  jealous woman, Olanshile Nasirudeen, is being held by the police for stabbing her 51 - year - old husband, causing him  to bleed to his death in Ijebu - Ode, Ogun State. 

Mrs Nasirudeen, who is a butcher, used a knife to attack her husband while he was inside the abattoir, tackled him to the ground and afterwards, dug a butcher - knife into his left leg before pulling it out.

The Daily Crucible learnt that the woman severed one of her husband's veins in the process.

Although the man  -  a butcher too,  was immediately taken to a hospital by his colleagues but he died while receiving treatment following profuse bleeding.

The Police Spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed this in a statement on Thursday and said the suspect was arrested by the Divisional Police Officer(DPO), Obalende Divisional Headquarters, Ijebu Ode,  Mr. Murphy Salami, a Superintendent of Police(SP) when he a received a distress call about the incident.

Abimbola also gave insight into the series of events that led to the fstal stabbing of her husband, saying a woman who is pregant for her husband surfaced in the abattoir and in the ensuing argument between her and the deceased over the visit, she stabbed him.

"The suspect who is a co- butcher with the deceased, sighted a woman who her husband recently impregnated at the abattoir, and she started questioning the woman about her audacity to get pregnant for her husband. 

"This led to a hot argument between her and the deceased, as a result of which the suspect picked a knife, and stabbed the deceased at the back joint of his left leg, thereby, cutting one of his veins. 

"He was quickly rushed to a nearby hospital for first aid, and later transferred to Ijebu Ode General hospital where he eventually gave up the ghost while receiving treatment, due to excessive bleeding.

"Upon the distress call, the Dpo Obalende division, SP Murphy Salami, led his men to the scene, but the suspect has took to flight before their arrival. She was subsequently traced, and was  eventually arrested in her hideout at Mobalufon area of Ijebu ode. 

"On interrogation, the suspect, who happened to be the fourth wife of the deceased, claimed that it was her husband who first slapped her simply because she asked his new wife her mission at her market stand. 

"The corpse of the deceased had been released to the family for burial in accordance with Islamic rights after the autopsy has been conducted on it," Abimbola said.
 
According to him, the commissioner of police, Edward Ajogun, has ordered the transfer of the suspect to homicide section of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department, for investigation and prosecution.
