Return Members' Lands Unjustly Acquired By Past Administrations, REDAN Begs Gov Abiodun

Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria, REDAN,  Ogun State chapter has appealed to Governor Dapo Abiodun, to release landed property of it members unjustly acquired by the previous administrations in the state. 

REDAN State Secretary, Adeyemo Babatunde made the appeal at the officially opening of its office in Abeokuta the state capital, assuring that members will collaborate with the state government to address the housing deficit in the state.

He said,“We plead that this mutual positive gesture, would be sustained, most especially, in the area of de- acquisitions of some of the lands of our members, unjustly acquired by the past administrations and the perfection of our members title documents in record time.” 

The Commissioner for Physical planning and Urban Development, Tpl Tunji Odunlami, commended the association for its efforts towards helping the state government to sanitize the housing sector and ensure that due process were followed before embarking on any development.   

He however expressed worry that in recent times, many estate developers are in the habit of advertising landed property for sale  without obtaining necessary approval.

The commissioner who spoke through the permanent secretary Tpl Yetunde Dina Added that the govt is determined to curb illegal       

She assures REDAN of government commitment to its partnership  with the association  to build the state for mutual beneficial outcome, urban renewal and development strides. 

She also charged professionals in the real estate business to always follow due process in order to enjoy the full support of the ministry. 

“We must appreciate your effort by collaborating with government to sensitize our people in due diligence before building any structure. The state government said is determined to curb illegal  and indiscriminate physical development to avert proliferation of slums in Ogun

“The ministry will be ready to offer every support needed as far the members continue to also do due diligence.

“Meanwhile, in recent times, many estate developers are in the habit of advertising landed property for sale  without obtain necessary permits we plead that, this should stop.”

Dignitaries present at the events includes; The Commissioner for Physical planning and urban development,Tp Olatunji Odunlami, represented by the permanent secretary of the ministry, Mrs. Yetunde Dina, the Director General, Ogun State bureau of lands and Survey, Barr. Aina ololade salami, the Ogun state surveyor General,Surv. Dr. Ken Salem Tunde Onososen.

Others includes;  The South West chairman of REDAN, Mr. Debo Adejana and General Secretary, southwest Dr. Kunle Adeyemi, Mr Able chairman, Ogun REDAN, Mr. Okusanya Oyebola to mention but few.
