The Daily Crucible
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Hakeem Odumosu, has expressed intention to discuss with the State's Minsitry of Youth and Social Development on the processes of adopting a handsome looking boy rescued by the Lagos Police Command.
This is heart warming. If Odumosu pulls the plan through to success, the fortunate boy would eventually have a home and family to call his own in the Lagos State Police boss.
The a - day - old boy as of Monday when he was found abandoned, was discovered by a good Lagosian at Oladejo Street, Oko Oba area of Lagos, and informed the police operatives attached to Abattoir Division of the command who quickly raced to the scene and picked up the baby for necessary medical attention and safety around 10:30am.
Commissioner Hakeem Odumosu received the baby in his ikeja office on Tuesday and directed the Gender Unit of the command to hand him over to the Child Protection Unit of the Ministry of Youth and Social Development of Lagos State.
The unit is presently taking custody of the child, according to Chief Superintendent of Police, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who is the Police Public Relations Officer of the Lagos Police Command.
Adejobi in a release, quoted the Police boss as urging women, especially young ladies, to desist from callous act of abandoning one's new born baby, stressing such attitude must be unequivocally condemned by all and sundry in the state and Nigeria.
