United States Congress Affirms Joe Biden As President - Elect

...As Trump Pledges Smooth Transition Of Power

-The Daily Crucible
The United States Congress has finally affirmed President-elect Joe Biden’s Electoral College victory over the incumbent, President Donald Trump after an extraordinary act of violence from a riotous mob on Wednesday afternoon forced U.S. legislators to evacuate the Capitol during the counting of the Electoral College votes in the presidential election.

Four people were left dead after the violence.

One of the dead, Ashli Babbita, a female US Air Force veteran was shot and killed by police while storming the Capitol Building with Donald Trump's riotous brigades in Washington DC.

Ashli Babbit, 35, was shot in the chest by an officer following  chaos that  was unleashed when thousands of the president's supporters breached the security perimeter of the legislature.

She died several hours later.

The Congress voted in the early morning hours of Thursday to certify the results showing President-elect Joe Biden trounced President Trump.

The counting of Vermont’s three electoral votes  saw Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris scaling the 270-threshold required to win the United States presidency.

The affirmation came after desperate bid Pro-Trump rioters scuttle the process on Wednesday, turning the Capitol building for the congress into a huge chaos and violence.

Lawmakers in the Senate and House of Representatives successfully beat back Republican efforts to truncate  Biden's electoral votes from swing states of Arizona and Pennsylvania.

A group of Republican lawmakers had challenged the results in Arizona and Pennsylvania, but their objections could not withstand a vote in either the House of Representatives or the Senate.

At approximately 3:33 a.m on Thursday, Congress had certified enough electoral votes to surpass the 270 threshold that guaranteed Biden would become the 46th president.

This effectively killed a desperate bid by Trump and his riotous supporters to overturn the results of the November election

Mean while, Donald  Trump has admitted  election defeat and promised an orderly transition in a statement issued after the congress concluded the ratification.

He, however, maintained that he disagrees with the outcome of the election, and could not provide any evidence of fraud.

The statement read: “Even though I totally disagree with the outcome of the election, and the facts bear me out, nevertheless there will be an orderly transition on January 20th. I have always said we would continue our fight to ensure that only legal votes were counted.

“While this represents the end of the greatest first term in presidential history, it’s only the beginning of our fight to Make America Great Again.”
