“While commiserating with the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, and the people of Ogun State on the exit of this political titan, one of Ogun’s finest politicians, we pray that God will grant the deceased’s immediate and political family, the fortitude to bear the  irreparable loss”, the statement concluded.

A Rare Politician Is Gone - Sowunmi

Sowunmi who appeares to be nursing political ambition for an yet - to - be disclosed elective office in 2023, prayed for the peaceful repose of Martins  - Kuye's soul and his family as well as the loved ones to be comforted.

"Men like Kuye are rare. Very intelligent, highly read, easy to talk to, firm at the negotiating table, deep connect across the spectrum of the social class.

"He had a way of making everyone feel special. Incredible soul who could quote Shakespeare within an extempore speech, highly observant, a leader of leaders. Ogun, nay Nigeria, lost an inspirational leader.

"It hits you when you look around, especially in Ogun, to try to find leaders that can be held up as role models in the political class. You are bound to feel some sadness, not because immortality has been promised anyone, old or young, but because you get a sense of irreplaceability that leaders like Sen Jubril Martins-Kuye are indeed hard to find in the present time," Sowunmi stated.

This is indeed a huge loss to the entire Country, Nigeria, Ogun State and Ijebuland in particular"
