Senator Tolu Odebiyi has called for a thorough investigation of the alleged procuring of soldiers by herders to forcefully graze on people's farmlands and the attendant molestation  of innocent people in Ogun West Senatorial District of the state.

Senator Odebiyi said the probe should be carried out without delay, lamenting the incessant cases of harassment, brutalization and maiming traceable to herders in Yewa land.

"It is morally wrong to allow herders to graze on people's farms unchecked, to the point that law abiding citizens are rendered hapless. This sends a dangerous sign, in addition  to undermining the credibility of government," he said.

The All Progressives Congress(APC) Senator, Ogun West, who was apparently prompted by media report alleging that soldiers escorted herders to graze in his people's farms, also called on the Brigade Commander of the 35 Artillery Brigade, Alamala, Abeokuta and the State Commissioner of Police (CP), Ogun Command to urgently look into the matter.

In a release on Saturday by the Senator's media office, Odebiyi urged the security chiefs in the state to stop the inimical, unpleasant and nasty situation reverberating around the villages of Ateru, Moro, Ologun, Agbon, Igbota, Ogunba-Aiyetoro, Oke-Odo, Ibore, Gbokoto, Iselu, Ijale, Ohunbe, Igbeme, Owode-Ketu, Igan-Alade, Lashilo, Oja Odan, Ateru, Moro, Ologun, Iyana Meta, Igbooro, Egbeda and Kuse.

He recalled that residents of Ogun West have gone through a lot of trauma in the hands of military and other strike forces, saying it is the responsibility of the mlitary and police to protect the lives and property of the citizenry and bring peace to the polity.
