Rehabilitation works at the Ogun State Water Corporation's dam have commenced in earnest at the site at Arakanga, Iberekodo, in Abeokuta North Local Government Area of the state.
Senior Special Adviser to the Governor Dapo Abiodun on Water Resources, Kunle Otun, who carried an inspection tour of the site on Friday, appealed to Abeokuta residents and environs to bear with the state government during this Dam rehabilitation period .
Otun said the project when concluded, will enhance the extraction of adequate volumes of raw water from the source to the treatment plants for onward massive distribution to the growing demands of communities in Abeokuta.
He noted that the appropriate time to successfully achieve the set plan is during the dry season.
On his part, General Manager, Ogun State Water Corporation Engr. Segun Maku assured residents that on completion of the project, every part of the city would enjoy continuous supply of potable water.
