COVID - 19: Dagburewe Of Idowa, Oba Adekoya, Urges Ogun Residents To Observe Safety Protocols


As the second wave of Coronavirus pandemic creeps into the country,  the Dagburewe of Idowa, Ogun State,  Oba Yinusa Adekoya, has advised residents of the state to observe all COVID-19 protocols as prescribed by the Presidential Task Force(PTF), Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) and the state government in order to contain its spread. 

Oba Adekoya who spoke while addressing pressmen at his palace in Idowa - Ijebu, pointed out that COVID-19 was still ravaging the nation, enjoined everyone to always wear facemask alongside other preventive measures to avert the spread of pandemic.

He also advised people to avoid large gatherings and ensure personal hygiene, especially, regular washing of hands, saying "the pandemic has not been completely eradicated in Nigeria".

He commended both Federal and the State Government's efforts at containing the spread of the disease through the stipulated protocols and cushioning the effects through various palliative materials distributed to the vulnerables. 

"I want to say categorically that the Governor Dapo Abiodun and his cabinet, especially the Commissioner for Health, Dr Tomi Coker did a wonderful job at combating the pandemic in the State, making sure casualties are tremendously reduced and also giving palliatives to the people in the state to cushion the effect of the lockdown," he said.
