Men of Ogun State Police Command have uncovered a baby factory home at Lagos Street Adesan in Mowe area of Obafemi Owode local government.

The discovery of the home followed a complaint from concerned residents of the area who informed the police at Mowe divisional headquarters that a particular building located in their area is strongly suspected to be a baby making factory.

The residents said they have observed that most of the women often seen inside the compound are expectant mothers but they hardly see them with their babies after they were delivered.

They stated further that from their observation, there was the high likelihood that the babies are being sold off.

On the strength of the information, the DPO Mowe division Marvis Jayeola led detectives to the area where a man who is strongly suspected to be working for the operator of the home, was arrested along with four women and four children.

One of the women is heavily pregnant while one of them was said to have just been delivered of a baby which also  has  been sold.

Investigation revealed that the home is strongly linked to one Mrs Florence Ogbonna, a notorious baby factory operator who had earlier been arrested for similar offence and had her case pending in court, according to the Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a release on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun has ordered a massive manhunt for the said Florence Ogbonna as the  case will be transferred to the Anti-human trafficking and child labour unit of the State Criminal investigation and intelligence department for discreet investigation.
