... I Didn't Single-handedly Sack The Nurses - CMD
Nurses in Ogun state have protested what they alleged the unjust sacking of two of their colleagues at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu, demanding that the affected nurses be reinstated forthwith.
The nurses in their scores who stormed the state Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ), at Abeokuta, the state capital, on Wednesday, said one of the victims of the unjust sacking, Ajibola Aishat Olufunke, was victimized solely because of her insistence on standards, nurses welfare and promotions.
According to the protesting nurses, Nurse Ajibola being a unionist was always on the management's neck and demanding that it lifts the promotion stagnancy levied on her colleagues.
The accused the Chief Medical Director (CMD), Peter Adefuye, of unilaterally taking the decision to sack the two nurses without the management's input, saying such arbitrariness must not be allowed to succeed.

However, the Chief Medical Director, OOUTH, Dr. Peter Adefuye when contacted confirmed the sacking of the workers but denied that he single handedly sacked them.
Adefuye said Ajibola, for example, was sacked because of "severe misconduct" but added that she had since written a letter of appeal, begging for clemency.
He said: “the CMD did not single handedly sack anybody. Tega’s case is already in court. I wonder why he was talking to the press . He has pressed for legal means.
“For the other lady and the reason the other lady was sacked , she has not said the truth.
“She has just written a letter of appeal , begging for mercy. While she was being interrogated she was using a lawyer , if she can use a lawyer , she can approach a court if her job was wrongly terminated.
“Her offence was not in any way connected to Tega’s matter; she is trying to whip up sentiment .
“It is an administrative matter. There are rules , we have mild and severe misconduct . Her offence is a severe misconduct . She committed a severe misconduct , that was why she was investig
