The Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Tuesday flagged off an ICT Centre to enhance its preparedness to meet the core mandate of combating any act of terrorism, disaster management, anti - vandalisation, peace and order among others.
Officers and men of the Corps will be trained at the centre tucked inside Owu Dekudu Village, Kobape, Abeokuta.
Aside the inauguration of the ICT centre, newly promoted 209 officers were also decorated in their new ranks while some personalities received awards from the NSCDC, Ogun Command.
The Ogun State Commandant of NSCDC, Hammed Abodurin, commended the newly decorated officers, reminding them that their elevation is a call to greater service, saying "to whom much is given, much is expected."
Dignitaries in attendance are Governor Dapo Abiodun represented by Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, Senator Gbenga Obadara, Commissioner of Police, the Ogun State Command, Edward Ajogun, his counterparts in the Nigeria Immigration Service(NIS), Nigeria Drugs Law Enforcement Agency(NDLEA), Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), 35 Artillery Brigade, Nigeria Army, Alamara among others.
