- - - Also Reveals Why The Renowned Televangelist Wasn't Convinced Feb Idahosa Was The Right Husband For Her
Rev. Laurie Idahosa, daughter in - law of the late ArchBishop Benson Idahosa, has mourned the death of the World-renowned televangelist, Morris Cerullo, saying his passing was a "big loss."
Cerullo, a man with a deep passion for his faith and a burden for the lost world, died in the early hours of yesterday at 88.
The healing televangelist was raised in a Jewish Orthodox orphanage in New Jersey, having lost his parents at a tender age, he gave his life to Christ at the age of 14 and at age 15, he had started ministry preaching in local churches.
And eight years into his ministry, he travelled to Greece on overseas missions, where his international ministry was born.
While Dr. Morris Cerullo ministry lasted till he took the last breath on Saturday, his presence was palpably felt in Latin America and Africa, particularly in developing nations of the world, having ministered to millions in 93 nations, in over 400 cities, on seven continents.
Reacting to the news of his demise, Rev. Laurie Idahosa who had served the late televangelist at close range in his life time, said she had hoped and prayed that God would keep Cerullo till he attained the age of 120, describing him as her "spiritual father."
She said it was a rare and great honour to have served him, also recalling that the Octogenarian spiritual father initially wasn't convinced that Feb Idahosa, son of late ArchBishop Benson Idahosa, was the right man for her.
According to Laurie, Cerullo believed marrying Feb would lock her down in Nigeria.
Cerullo eventually embraced young Feb Idahosa and flew to Delaware in 2002 to perform the wedding ceremony between Feb and Laurie.
"Papa @morriscerullo, it was an honor to be called your daughter and to have you love me so deeply and sincerely. I can still hear your laughter as your granddaughter Beckey and I teased you as we traveled on one of your many Africa and world tours back in the 90's. You had a beautiful sense of humor as well as a serious side which we all knew not to play with.
"Serving you was an honor for me and I would do it again and again if given the opportunity. Thank you for trusting me to be in your personal space and for loving the people I love. I remember how you weren't convinced that @febidahosa was right for me (especially because you knew that marrying him would lock me down in Nigeria).
"Once I told you how deeply I love him and ready I was for that commitment, you not only embraced him, you flew to Delaware in 2002 to perform our wedding ceremony.
"Thank you for being a spiritual father to me. Your loss is a big one. God knows that we hoped and prayed that you would stay with us until you were 120," Laurie stated on her official Instagram page.
