Uwa : RCCG Condemns Gruesome Murder Of Its Member, Says God'll Expose Evildoers

...As Obaseki orders investigation into Uwa's death

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has condemned in strong term, the gruesome murder of it's member, Miss Uwa Omozuwa, in Benin, Edo State, by yet - to - be - identified killer(s).

Uwa, a 100 level undergraduate student at the University of Benin was attacked on Wednesday, May 27, and left half dead inside one of the parishes of the RCCG in Ikpoba Hill, Benin,  but she died three days later at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital(UBTH) after she was brought there for treatment.

In a release  emanating from  the RCCG Public Relations Officer, Pastor Olaitan Olubiyi, the leadership(Pastor Enoch Adeboye) of the church noted that the Miss Uwa, until her dastard killing, was a member of the choir in one of the parishes in Benin City, praying that the God will expose the evildoers.

Meanwhile,  Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State  has ordered investigation into the circumstances sourounding the death of Uwaila Omozuwa, a 100-level student of the Department of Microbiology, University of Benin (UNIBEN), at Ikpoba Hill, Benin City.

Uwaila was alleged to have been gang - raped after her head was smashed with a fire extinguisher.

In a statement by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Communication Strategy Mr. Crusoe Osagie, he said  Governor Obaseki has mandated the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and other security agencies to go after the culprits and bring them to justice.

Osagie said:“The governor is deeply saddened by the news of the death of Miss Omozuwa. We have been in consultation with the Edo State Command and have mandated thorough investigation of the matter to ensure that those who are responsible for this heinous crime are brought to justice.”
