The Olu of Obafemi, Oba Taofeek Owolabi has appealed to Governor Dapo Abiodun to rehabilitate the Obafemi - Owode road to ease the movement of people and improve the socio - economy of the area.
Oba Taofeek made the appeal at his 9th Coronation and Thanksgiving service held at his Palace in Obafemi-Owode, days ago.
The monarch lamented that the past administration came up with load of promises to reconstruct the deplorable road but said nothing was done about it, except leaving it to worsen.
He said:"The state government during is campaign made a lot of promises that if he won the election the road will be fixed. If the previous administration have been doing it bit by bit, there won't be any portholes."
He added that the town is a basket food for Ogun State and not only the local government.
"If you're coming from Abeokuta, you will see so many resources. We have so many land that if the government wants to do agriculture, we have enough land to give them. Besides that, you will see that there are mineral resources, the mining where the government is generating their revenue. There are a lot for government to gain if the road is done. This road is begging and calling for repair," he said.
He urged his people to keep supporting the government, praying, and loving one anothe.
"Cooporate with each other and be a law abiding citizens. You should support the present administration in all ramifications to fix this road for us."
The chairman board of trustees members Bishop (Dr ) Ezekiel olukunle also urged the citizens and residents of the state to help the government ensure that peace reigns.
He said: "The situation of the country nowadays is giving us problem . We need peace to reign . If we have peace, every where will be settled. Without peace we cannot see anything that will give us happiness."
