The Management of Ogun state - owned College of Health Technology (OSCOHTECH) on Tuesday refuted the allegations of financial impropriety, failed contracts as well as non - accreditation of its courses levelled against it by faceless individuals.
The Management described it as a calculated intention by these faceless people to misinform the unsuspecting members of the public through instigation of baseless, false and negative media report that some of the courses offered in the institution have been denied accreditation.
In a release by by the Public Relations, Dele Alaga, on behalf of the OSCOHTECH management, he stated that the allegations of perpetrating fraud and "tactical embezzlement" of the institution's fund against the Provost, Dr. Abiodun Oladunjoye, was false and baseless, stressing that the unfounded allegations were politically motivated to tarnish the records of achievements of the Provost and the image of the institution.
An online platform had alleged that OSCOHTECH Provost, in connivance with some officials of the state Ministry of Education, Science and Technology had carried out some questionable financial transaction to the tune of about N60 million through award of access road contract within the institution as well as purchase of automobiles.
But reacting, the OSCOHTECH Management stated that the institution has never embarked on any financial transaction without following the due process.
"It is imperative to note that Ogun state government has a mechanism for auditing accounts of every tertiary institutions in the state and not for once has there been an eyebrow raised over financial transactions in OSCOHTECH.
"We make bold to state that in the face of financial insufficiency ravaging tertiary institutions in the state, OSCOHTECH has been one of the few institutions that has been making gross payment of salaries and deductions as and when due. This is only possible with prudent management of funds in the college.
"We also make bold to say that there has never been any financial transaction in the college that is devoid of due process and diligence. This is needless to affirm that the college management team is peopled with versatile academics and seasoned administrators with unquestionable repute.
"No road was constructed but only drainage was constructed to prevent flooding as a result of more waters coming into the college due to the road construction by the Government which leads to diversion of water from adjoining villages into the college and bigger drainage were constructed to accommodate the body of water".
"All our courses, both at the National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) levels have full accreditation from regulatory boards which is the NBTE. Our students have also been participating in the mandatory National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) scheme as soon as they graduated."
