Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Sunday afternoon arrived Ijebu - Ode, Ogun State, and dashed to the home of the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Kayode Adetona, located within the GRA area of the ancient town and entered a private meeting with him.
It is not yet clear the reason for the meeting but observers of the current happenings, told The Daily Crucible that the visit may not be unconnected with the politics of 2019 general elections both at the national level and in Ogun, the Vice -President's home state.
Over a dozen reporters had kept vigil near the entrance of Oba Adetona's GRA home in the last four hours ahead of Osinbajo's visit, but they were not permitted to enter the monarch's home when the august visitors eventually showed up.
Security Operarives manning the area said pressmen are not allowed.
The Vice - President arrived in a military chopper marked NAF 541 around 3:35pm and was received at the Otunba Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu - Ode, by former Commissioner of Commerce and Industry, Otunba Bimbo Ashiru, ex - Finance Commissioner, Lekan Bello, Prof. Ashiru and Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Ahmed Iliyasu among others.
The quartet and others in the entourage of the Vice - President, later proceeded to Awujale's residence to meet with Oba Adetona.
As at the time of filing the report, the private meeting is still on going.
