The resuscitated Iganmode Cultural Carnival of the Awori people in Ogun State began in earnest in Ota amid glamour, excitement and applause from cheerful and colourfully dressed sons and daughters of Otaland, peaking with the graceful arrival of two beautiful crowned Iganmode Queens, that became the instant cynosure of all eyes when they entered the venue with elegant foot steps around noon time.
About 45 minutes earlier, thunderous applause also erupted at the town's Comprehensive school, venue of the ceremony, when the traditional ruler, Olota of Ota, Aworiland, Oba (Prof.) Abdulkabir Adeyemi Obalanlege, arrived with his Olori - Toyin Obalanlege, and his children - all royally attired.
The Royal family were brought in an equestrian white horse - driven vehicle showcasing taste and class befitting them.
Also, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, who was a special guest of honour, also joined the Olota and his people in the celebration where Chieftaincy titles would later be conferred on some deserving personalities including the renowned business magnate and philanthropist, Chief Kensington Adebutu.
Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi was represented by two prominent traditional rulers from Ifeland.
The two queens - Miss Temitope Fakorede(22), 100 level student, Department of English Language, Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ijagun, Ogun State, and Miss Lawal Mariam(21)a prospective university student,
were crowned Iganmode Queens of Ota last Thursday ahead of today's grand finale in a beauty pageant chaired by Mrs Omolara Hamed.
While Temitope emerged Winner in the keenly contested prize, Mariam took the First Runner Up position.
